What I would like to see on this page

I have a GE 30 pint unit and I don't see an explanation for "P1" to be on a display when just turning on a dehumidifier! My unit has "P1" on its display upon turning the unit on for the first time in 5 days. It is definitely not froze up. I noticed my filter was dirty and cleaned it and thoroughly dried it and put it back in its slot.

Update, I kept it on after I cleaned the filter for about 30 min. and my display now says 48 % and going down and appears to be putting out warm air and may be working fine now.

I think your site should have an explanation for all possible scenarios!!

Thanks

Thank you for you excellent site. I need an dehumidifier and your site helped me decide which brand to purchase. I decided on the Crosley/Frigidaire brand because of your information. Thank you.

What I'd like, What was great, Corrections?

First, this is an excellent site that lists much of the information that I have had to glean from many websites.
It is very clear, concise and factual.

From what I have read on other sites, isn't the Soleusair made by Gree Electric of Zhuhai, China rather than an American company?

Also, sadly our Frigidaire has not been reliable. It is an excellent unit but after 2 years, it stops pulling water from the air. This has happened to us twice. The company has an excellent warranty and great service so we would be willing to try them, again.

Thank you for your kind remarks.

You are quite correct about Soleusair units, they are indeed made in China. I had neglected to correct this on a page that was written some time ago but will do so very shortly. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Thanks for the clear explanation!

Just bought our 1st dehumidifer last night, a Kenmore 35-pint unit. We've lived on Oahu (HI) for nine years and of course it's humid. But it's been especially rainy the past 2 weeks, and my wife has come down with pneumonia, so I thought dehumidiying the air would help some.

Wow, was I surprised at how noisy the unit is! But it's certainly effective ... in 6 hours of operation it pulled 35 pints out of the 1,000 sq. ft. area. I'll keep looking for a smaller quieter one for the bedroom. Thanks again.

I need a dehumidifier And really working hard to make the right decision. Your site has put it in plain English. I have looked at reviews on other pages to leave only more confused.
My hope is to be able to make my purchase at a local retailer to avoid the trouble of making a return.
Thanks for your help.
